It has vitamin A and selenium to help reducer free radicals and its chromium content helps maintain normal blood sugar levels.
Slippery Elm inner bark (Ulmus Fulva) - Contains large amounts of tannins and mucilages which are believed to help dissolve mucus deposits in tissue, glands and nerve channels. The inner bark, rich in calcium, magnesium and vitamins(A,B,C,K), helps to nourish and soothe organs, tissues and mucus membranes and is helpful to the lungs. It also helps neutralize acids from occasional indigestion.
Rhubarb Root (Rheum Officinale) - Used traditionally in small amounts, this herb acts as a gently laxative and helps purge the liver of toxic buildup and waste. It helps neutralize acids due to indigestion. Its malic acid also carries oxygen to all parts of the body, aiding in healing and promoting a positive and balancing effect upon the whole digestive system.
Our blend is also enhanced with the following:-
Watercress - This food is included in a long line of so called 'superfoods' that have been found to have beneficial and protective health effects.
Blessed Thistle - This was widely used in the middle ages, when it was a known medicine for suffers of the plague. Monks grew blessed thistle as a cure for small pox. The sesquiterpene lactones, such as cnicin, provide the main beneficial effects of blessed thistle.
Red Clover - This is considered to be one of the richest sources of isoflavones (water-soluble chemicals that act like estrogens, found in many plants). It is used for hot flashes/flushes, PMS, lowering cholesterol, breast enhancement and breast health, improving urine production and improving circulation of the blood. It is a source of many valuable nutrients including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C and also used to help prevent osteoporosis, reduce the possibility of blood clots and arterial plaques.
Kelp - Kelp is a type of green seaweed that is called a miracle plant by some. It is full of health benefits that make it a great food. Kelp is found in some of the foods you eat already and can be added in a small amount as a seasoning to many foods. Kelp is known to give boosts of energy. It can reduce inflammation in joints and bones. This helps to especially alleviate pain in people suffering from arthritis. Being high in natural iodine, this helps in promoting a healthy thyroid. It is also able to help limit the amount of cancer cells released into the blood stream and can also help to limit tumor growth. It does this thanks to lignans, which are phytochemicals found in sea vegetables. Kelp is also high in magnesium.
